Last updated: July 2026
Nipali ("we", "us", or "our") is a free service for comparing remittance exchange rates from Japan and discovering community events. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
Browsing (no account required): When you use Nipali to view exchange rates, gold prices, or events without signing in, we do not collect any personal information.
Google Sign-In: If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive from Google:
- Your display name
- Your email address
- Your Google profile photo
- A unique Google account identifier
We do not receive your Google password or payment information.
Phone number (required after sign-in): After Google sign-in, we ask you to confirm your display name and provide a mobile phone number. We store your number in E.164 format and a timestamp of when it was collected. Your phone number is used for contact and community data collection; it is not shown on your public profile.
Profile information you provide: After signing in, you may optionally add a short bio and your city in Japan to your public profile. This information is visible to other users. Your phone number is not shown on your public profile.
Event interactions: If you RSVP to events (Going, Interested, Not Going), we store your RSVP status linked to your account. If you are an event organiser, we store the events you create including titles, descriptions, location, category, and any cover images you upload.
Ticket purchases: When you buy event tickets, we store your ticket details (ticket code, tier, price paid, check-in status) and payment information (amount, payment status, Stripe transaction ID). We do not store your credit card number — payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe.
